The Bulloch County Board of Education named Charles Wilson as their only finalist for the superintendent position after an executive session during Thursday night's regular meeting.
"The board unanimously considers Wilson to be the most qualified
candidate," said Board Chairman Maurice Hill, in a statement. "We
believe selecting Wilson as superintendent is in the best interest of
Bulloch County Schools."
Wilson, an assistant superintendent of business and finance for Bulloch County schools, was selected from 33 applicants.
"That's where I bring the benefit of having worked in the school system the past 16 years. I understand the processes, the culture, I know the community. I'm familiar with the people. We have a lot of effective people," Wilson told WTOC.
The board is scheduled to confirm Wilson at their July 19 regular session.
