SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have released surveillance video of an gunman in connection with an armed robbery who shot an Isle of Hope firefighter in a Sandfly bar early Monday morning.

Police are hoping someone can identify the gunman in the video.

SCMPD homicide detectives are searching for a black male in his mid-20s who has short- to medium-length hair. He's 5'8" to 5'10" tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He has a medium complexion and was wearing a mask over the lower portion of his face. Video showing the suspect taken during the robbery was released today.

Wesley Franklin, 21, died after being shot during the robbery at about 2 a.m. Monday at  Deb's Pub and Grub just off of Skidaway Road on Norwood Avenue. He was inside the bar when the suspect fired shots while robbing other patrons outside.

Anyone with information on the case or that can lead to the identification of the gunman is asked to call Crimestoppers at 912.234.2020 or text CRIMES (274637). In the body type, include "CStop2020" plus the tip. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
