SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The American Red Cross held a baby-sitting training course on Friday.
A new poll out shows 55 percent of parents surveyed decided to stay home because they couldn't find a good baby-sitter, according to the Red Cross.
The training includes CPR and a first aid course. The class teaches teens how to care for younger children and handle emergency situations.
"We're not just learning how to deal with difficult children. We are going to learn first aid and how to deal with emergency situations that require action without much thought you just need to act and react to every little variable that comes in," said Erika Mohr, a class participant.
They're holding another class on July 21. For more details about the class see the Red Cross website.
