Family requests court to revisit alligator death case

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The family of an 83-year-old woman whose family said she was attacked and killed by an alligator in the Landings subdivision in Savannah in 2007 is asking the Georgia Supreme Court to reconsider their case.

Last week, the court denied the family of Gwyenth Williams a jury trial, saying since she had seen small alligators in the Landings. She should have known that "small alligators have large parents."

The family argues other islands communities remove large alligators so Williams wouldn't have known about the risk.
