Hundreds say goodbye to fallen firefighter

A community is grieving after firefighters laid one of their fallen brothers to rest today. There were nearly 500 people in attendance for the funeral of 21-year-old Isle of Hope firefighter Wesley Franklin who was shot and killed earlier this week.

Crews were busy at work tonight clearing up a two car wreck at Chevis and Beaufort Roads off Georgia 204. Police say they believe one of the drivers ran a stop sign and hit the other.

It is that time of year again, I Pledge for Ice Cream is kicking off over at Leopold's on Broughton Street. Children ages 12 and younger get a free scoop of ice cream if they say the pledge of allegiance.

Armstrong Atlantic State University's top pirate received top honors Friday from the Coastal Empire Boy Scouts of America. Executive Dolan Lewis presented Armstrong President Dr. Linda Bleicken with a plaque in appreciation for being able to hold their meetings at the university.
