Coast Guard rescues 63-year-old woman

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 63-year-old woman 60-miles east of Savannah Saturday night.

Around 10:00 p.m., operational watch standers at Coast Guard Sector Charleston received notification from crew members aboard cruise ship Carnival Fantasy that Alice Hall, 63, had fallen down the stairs, which caused a laceration on her head and was in need of medical attention.

The Coast Guard Air Station Savannah launched an MH-65 Dolphin air rescue crew a little after 11:00 p.m. and the crew transported Hall and a nurse from the cruise ship to Savannah Memorial Hospital.
