Brunswick man charged with homicide by vehicle

The Brunswick Police Department recently served three arrest warrants as a result of a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Jan. 30.

Giles Curtis Dismuke, 47, of Brunswick, was driving a 1991 Chevrolet truck westbound on Gloucester Street. Dismuke was attempting to make a left turn onto Ellis Street from Gloucester Street when he drove his vehicle into a pedestrian walking across Ellis Street.

Pauline Jones, 81, of Brunswick, was transported to the Southeast Georgia Health System, and then flown by helicopter to the Memorial Medical University Center in Savannah with severe injuries. However, as the result of the injuries, Jones did not survive.

After a thorough investigation, Dismuke was arrested on June 25 and charged with homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, and driver to use due care/distracted driving (cell phone).
