GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Usher Raymond said on his Facebook page that his stepson was declared brain dead after an accident on Lake Lanier Friday.

Officers said two children were on an inner tube being pulled by a pontoon boat when a Jet Ski ran over them. They said the driver of the Jet Ski was 38-year old Jeffrey Hubbard, a family friend.

Police said charges are pending for Hubbard.

Kyle Glover, the son of Usher's estranged wife Tameka Foster, and 15-year-old girl were flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston in critical condition.

The girl was in stable condition with deep cuts to her head and a broken arm.

The accident happened in the area of Van Pugh Park. Officers said the group rented the pontoon boat and two jet skis.

Two Department of Natural Resources rangers witnessed the accident.

"According to one of my rangers, the Jet Ski ran on top of them (kids)," said Sgt. Mike Burgamy, Lake Lanier Supervisor.

The two rangers saved the girl. A pair of Good Samaritans, Troy Morrow and Rob Jordan, rescued the boy.

The identities of those involved are not being released by authorities. Officers only said the kids are from Georgia and the man is from metro Atlanta.

Officers said alcohol was not a factor. They have not filed charges, but they are still investigating.
