Body found in backyard on Lady’s Island

LADY'S ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

A neighbor woke up to a grim discover Saturday morning.  

According to the Beaufort County Coroner's Office, a 32-year-old man was found dead in his backyard on White Dogwood Road on Lady's Island.

A neighbor discovered the body around 10:00 a.m., but authorities are not sure how long the body had been there.  The man was last seen on June 29. 

At this time, authorities do not believe that there was any foul play involved, but are not ruling anything out at this time. The body was sent to the Medical University of South Carolina for an autopsy.

    On Sunday afternoon WTOC ventured to Forsyth Park to see how people were beating the heat.  Despite a heat advisory being in effect until 8 p.m., children were enjoying the splash pad, while others were brave enough to play volleyball.

    The Chatham County police department graduated five recruits on Friday. As a part of their commencement, they are taking part in community projects. The recent graduates took some time on Sunday afternoon to make themselves known to the homeless community.  "We have training with community order and policing," someone said.
