Veterans and soldiers gathered in Bonaventure Cemetery this morning for their annual cleanup in honor of Memorial Day. About a dozen volunteers came out to beautify the area of the cemetery where soldiers are laid to rest.
There was plenty to do. They cut grass and raked leaves, and even washed the headstones.
This is Spec. Timothy Burnham's second year as a volunteer. "I feel that we're doing great things," he said. "I'm glad that we can be a part to help the veterans out and that I'm glad we can be out here teaming together to do good things."
Volunteers have been cleaning up the soldiers' graves in Bonaventure Cemetery for eight years.
