A Port Wentworth teen is in a lot of trouble this morning after police say he fired a BB gun at an officer and neighbors. About 1:30am this morning, a Port Wentworth officer was on patrol on Bonnybridge Road, when he suddenly reported someone was shooting at his police car.

He took cover at a house across the street from where the shots were coming, and found the man there had been hit by shots from a pellet or BB gun. The back window of the officer's car had also been shot out.

Police surrounded the house where the shots came from and shut down the road, then began talking with someone inside. Police say it was a 14-year-old who was responsible for the damage. Police say they will let the juvenile authorities decide on charges, including assault and damage to a police vehicle.

The name of the juvenile has not been released.
