The Georgia Welcome Center on I-95 is getting the holiday weekend off to the right start. Today they held their annual Georgia on My Mind Day celebration. The visitors' center at the South Carolina line had free food, drinks and different booths set up promoting all the things you can see in the State of Georgia.
Organizers say it's a way to thank holiday travelers and help keep them safe on the roads at the same time. "We just ask that they be careful, slow down, pay attention to their surroundings and just enjoy their holiday," the the center's manager Elizabeth Boyles.
This is the 26th year the Georgia's Visitors' Center has held this celebration.
