A 22-year-old Savannah man was denied bond today in a Tuesday night shooting in the Live Oak neighborhood.

Deral Crawford is charged with aggravated assault. Police say he shot Larry Briggs -- a father who was trying to break up a street fight among a group of more than 20 teen boys.

Briggs' lung was punctured. He's recovering from his wounds at Memorial University Medical Center.

Two of the boys involved in the fight, a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old, are Briggs' sons.

Crawford is due back in Recorder's Court for a preliminary hearling August 3.
