District Attorney Richard Mallard won a third full term by defeating challenger Martha Kirkland Hall.
STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -
District Attorney Richard Mallard won a third full term by defeating challenger Martha Kirkland Hall 8,436 to 5,970. Mallard said afterward the margin showed the confidence voters have in him and his staff.
"We have a good office and a good staff and I think people see that and showed it today," Mallard said. "We have one goal and that's to serve the people of the entire circuit."
No candidate ran in the Democratic party primary. Therefore, Mallard wins the November general election.
Mallard has been District Attorney for ten years, having won a special election to serve the remaining term of former DA Joe Martin and two terms following. The Ogeechee circuit includes Bulloch, Effingham, Jenkins, and Screven counties.
