The G-8 summit is not only drawing world officials to the Coastal Empire, but also protesters. Organizers of the Peace and Civil Liberties Festival to be held starting this morning in Forsyth Park were busy setting up yesterday. They had a few delays, including a rainstorm, which pushed them to a park near City Market.
Organizer Kelly Gasink claims the City of Savannah has held them up, including their plans for a Wall of Freedom. City officials say they had nothing to do with the Wall of Freedom holdup.
Gasink will bring these issues and others to the table at today's protest.
The festival runs today, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am until 9pm at the south end of Forsyth Park. This morning, protesters are scheduled to parade from the park to Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard and back.
