'RIP Hannah T' spray painted on "the rock" just off campus
GAINESVILLE, GA (CBS46) -
Grief counselors were on hand at Gainesville High School Monday as students began coping with the loss of one of their classmates.
Autopsy results released Monday evening revealed Hannah Truelove, 16, was killed.
"I can't get into the specifics of the exact cause of death other than the fact that it was a homicide and it was by violent means," said Major Woodrow Tripp with the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
Tripp said investigators believe Truelove knew the person who killed her.
"We are looking at several different persons of interest," Tripp said.
On Friday, a neighbor found Truelove's body in some woods behind the Lake Lanier Club Apartments. Over the weekend, Hall County authorities confirmed the body was that of Truelove who was reported missing Thursday.
Truelove lived in the apartment complex with her mother.
Authorities scoured Truelove's Twitter page for clues as to what might have happened to her. On Aug. 12, she tweeted, "I got an ugly (expletive deleted) stalker."
Then on Aug. 22, the day before she went missing, she tweeted, "I need to move out of these dang apartments."
"Was Facebook, Twitter and other social networking media devices part of her life? It was. Whether it played a part or not, we are not sure about that at this point," Tripp said.
Over the weekend, someone spray painted the words, "RIP" and "Hearts for Hannah T" on an exposed rock situated in the center of a park across the street from Gainesville High School.
