Cops: Man injured in Walterboro drive-by shooting

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities are investigating a shooting which left one man injured in Walterboro on Tuesday morning.

According to Walterboro Public Safety, a 21-year-old man was shot in the back in the 200-block of Bailey Street around 11:40 a.m.

Officials say an unknown suspect rode by the residence and opened fire, striking the victim in the lower, right side of his back.

Officers said the man was airlifted to a hospital in Savannah.

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that metro Savannah's unemployment rate declined to 7.1 percent in April, down three-tenths of a percentage point from 7.4 percent in March.
