Hilton Head Revitalization Plan Approved

A pretty popular vacation hotspot's getting a facelift. Hilton Head Island's town council approved revitalization plans for Pope Avenue and Coligny Circle. Working with property owners to renovate older buildings and stay within strict island zoning, they'll add some roads to ease traffic. And add a parking garage near the beach.

"This is not your father's parking garage," said council member John Safay. "It's not the parking garage we're accustomed to in major cities around the United States. Our designers are going to make this parking garage be an asset aesthetically to the area."

They won't be doing this overnight. The town admits they didn't set the budget, and some of the revitalization could take ten years. We'll keep you posted.
