SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Plans for a new skate park in Savannah are picking up momentum as a meeting was held this Sunday afternoon to discuss plans for a 25-thousand square foot concrete skate park at Lake Mayer Community Park.
Supporters are working hard to collect materials and raise enough funds before builders arrive in the next couple of months.
"Come to fundraisers. if you know somebody that's really interested and passionate about this, send them our way," said Ben Maher, CEO of Chatham County Skate Park Supporters.
"Be involved in any way possible. Come to fundraisers. Spend your money on the skate park. We're a tax deductible organization. We're going to see this trough until we're finished."
The goal is to break ground by the end of 2012. to learn more about how you can help, click here.
