School in Jasper County is back in session on Monday afternoon after a bomb threat was called in to the Jasper County School District office on Friday night.
Officers with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office responded at about 8 a.m. Monday that's when the message was retrieved from the district's answering service, according to the school district.
Students were cleared from the buildings at both the Ridgeland and Hardeeville campuses on Monday morning as a precaution.
The bomb squad was called in and the campuses were searched. Then an all-clear was given for students to return to class.
The Hardeeville campus returned its students to classes around 11:45 a.m. Ridgeland campus returned its students to campus at about 12:45 p.m. The incident remains under investigation.
Authorities are with the students at both campuses. Parents were notified of the situation through the Alert Now System.
