A "vodka bandit" is on the loose and wanted by Savannah-Chatham Metro and now Richmond Hill police. Two liquor stores have been robbed, each time, with the same method.
The man walks in with what the clerk described to WTOC as a dead presidents mask. At first, they thought it was a joke but quickly realized the vodka bandit meant business.
In the exclusive video released to WTOC, you'll see three men at the counter, including the clerk, jump back in fear when they saw the masked man had a sawed off shotgun in his hands. He brandished his weapon, demanded money and after all the money was in a bag, he grabs a bottle of vodka and leaves the store.
The incident happened on Aug. 18 at the Lawrel Hill Beverage in Savannah. Six days later, the vodka bandit struck again at Jeff's Beverage in Richmond Hill. He used the same exact order and routine, except police say this time he made everyone in the store get on the floor, and then again, he grabbed a bottle of vodka.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 6'4" to 6'5", average build and wore a red hat along with the mask and shot gun in both armed robberies. Police think the man had been there before because he knew exactly where the vodka of choice was and made a quick escape.
If you're wondering what the vodka bandit's vodka of choice is, it's Smirnoff, at least so far. However, police want him behind bars before he strikes again.
