Albright to speak at Ga. Southern Tuesday

Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will speak at GSU on Sept. 18.

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will speak at Georgia Southern University Tuesday.

Albright was the first female secretary of state when she was chosen by former President Bill Clinton in 1997. She will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, from President Barack Obama in spring 2013.

Albright will be speaking in Statesboro on Sept. 18 at Georgia Southern University's Hanner Fieldhouse beginning at 7 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.
