BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -
Beaufort police are asking
for the public's help in finding a gunman who robbed Emily's Restaurant on
Sunday.
They released an image
captured by a surveillance camera from a nearby business of the suspect in
hopes that someone can identify him.
Beaufort police were called at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday to Emily's Restaurant
at 906 Port Republic St.
A worker told police that he and another employee were
preparing to open the restaurant that day when a man came into the restaurant
through an unlocked rear door.
The suspect was armed with a silver semi-automatic
handgun and confronted the employee and demanded money. The worker handed over
cash and the suspect took off with cash, a cell phone and a bottle of vodka.
The suspect is described as a white male of medium
height with a slightly heavy build. He had long dirty blond hair and was clean
shaven. He was wearing baggy jeans and a black T-shirt. Police said he's
considered armed and dangerous.
