EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -
A Rincon man who is charged with
enticing a minor online appeared in an Effingham County court on Wednesday morning.
Lamar Beaupre, 25, of Rincon was taken into custody Tuesday after he enticed
and solicited a 14-year-old middle school student for sex, according to the
Effingham County Sheriff's Office.
The Effingham County Sheriff's Office got a tip that
he was conversing with a minor who he met on Facebook, and investigators found
that he was soliciting the minor for sex and disseminating nude photographs of
himself, according to the sheriff's office.
Beaupre was charged with enticing a
minor for indecent purposes, distribution of material depicting sexual conduct,
and computer and electronic pornography and child exploitation.
An Effingham County Magistrate
judge granted him a $15,000 bond under the conditions that he would not access a
computer or contact the victim. The judge also prohibited him from being around
children.
The Effingham County Sheriff's
Office said the investigation is not over and that its Internet Crimes Against
Children Division is continuing to look into the case.
