Students robbed at Savannah College of Art Design

Two students were robbed inside of a campus apartment in Midtown Atlanta.

It happened at the Savannah College of Art Design's Spring House Apartments, around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

News of the strong-arm robbery traveled quickly among SCAD students.

"I was kind of shocked. It caught me by surprise. It happened at my old dorm. I used to live there," said sophomore William Sabb.

According to Atlanta police, a man knocked on the door of a student's dorm-room on Spring Street. When one of the victims opened the door just a little bit, two men forced their way inside.

Police said one of the suspects put one of the men in a choke-hold, and tied up his hands. Both suspects then began collecting electronics, clothes and whatever else they could grab.

During the robbery, a second victim woke up, and was tied up too.

SCAD junior Kadesh Wyche told CBS Atlanta News that security is normally on point. She questions how the robbery could happen.

"I know for sure when I come through here with all my fashion bags, they still card me. So I'm just trying to figure out how they got in," Wyche said.

The victims gave fairly generic descriptions of the suspects, with no distinguishing characteristics.

Atlanta police are still investigating.
