
Author Richard Arum, Ph.D. will visit Georgia South University to take part in the Norman Fries Distinguished Lectureship Series. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3. The topic of his speech will be "Learning During Unsettled Time: College Graduates' Academic Performance and Recent Experiences in the US." The event is free and open to the public and will take place in the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center Assembly Hall.
Arum is the co-author of "Academically Adrift: Limited Learning on College Campuses." His book raises questions about the quality of academic and social experiences for college students and calls for refocusing on the fundamental goals of higher education.
