SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The 2012 Savannah Jazz Festival is officially underway.
The festival kicked off with the traditional "jam fest" at Blowin' Smoke barbeque.
The 31st annual festival is known as the largest free festival in the southeast. You'll hear music from local as well as international musicians.
Organizers including Chairman Howard Paul say they can't wait to share the musical experience.
"It brings the entire community together from all spectrums of society to celebrate jazz, which is America's traditional music and America's art form."
The festival continues all week long. For a schedule of all the free events, click here.
