Beaufort businesses offer free parking for Customer Appreciation Week
BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -
As part of Customer Appreciation Week, more than 25 businesses and restaurants in downtown Beaufort are picking up the tab for parking along Bay St. from Charles St. to Carteret St.
"It's one way for the businesses to give back to the community and say thank you, we really appreciate you because you are our life blood," said Darlene Kelly, Simply Southern II owner.
"We know our customers are making an effort to shop locally so this is one way we can show our appreciation for that because it helps us keep our doors open and it puts money back into the local economy," said Cheryl Hunter, Joli Home Accents owner.
Many customers seem to really appreciate it.
"It is a good thing," said Sharon Flores. "I always remember to put my quarters in at 10 a.m. so its nice not to have to do that today."
In addition to the parking, participating merchants are also offering all kinds of specials and will be holding a drawing on Sunday afternoon for gift cards and merchandise.
They're hoping all of this will also encourage others to come downtown and check out all they have to offer.
