Man wanted in River Street shooting death

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A warrant has been issued by Savannah-Chatham Metro Police in connection for a shooting death on River Street.

Lanard Akeem Mikell, 20, is wanted in the shooting death of Tiyates Franklin. That happened at about 1 a.m. on Sept. 2. Police said Franklin had been involved in a confrontation with Mikell just before the shooting.

Franklin died at Memorial University Medical Center.  

Police said Mikell is known to frequent the Tatumville area and has spent time in Rincon and Ridgeland, S.C. He's described as 5'11" tall and weighs 150 lbs. He has brown eyes, black hair and a beard.
