HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - After years of study and debate, plans to dredge Harbour Town Yacht Basin and two other clogged waterways are finally advancing, this according to the WTOC Bureau at the Island Packet.
The South Island Dredging Association applied for the permit earlier this month. If approved, it would double the depth of the Harbour Town Yacht Basin at around eight feet.
Several agencies including the Army Corps of Engineers have thirty days to review the permit before it can be approved.
If approved, the dredging would begin in November of next year.
