The Army has released the names of the two Hunter Army Airfield pilots who were killed Tuesday night in a helicopter crash.
Thirty-two year old Chief Warrant Officer Nicholas DiMona, II from New Jersey and 26 year old Warrant Officer William Loffer from Indiana died when their Apache Longbow crashed near Richmond Hill. The men were on a training mission for the First Battalion Third Aviation Regiment's Charlie Company.
Chief Warrant Officer DiMona was a decorated soldier who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He came to Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield in November 2001. Warrant Officer Loffer joined the Third Infantry Division in February 2004.
A memorial will be held at Hunter Army Airfield on Monday.
