EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -
Two men were arrested Tuesday night after an Effingham County sheriff's deputy discovered a methamphetamine lab inside of their vehicle during a traffic stop.
A deputy observed a white Chevrolet Suburban driving erratically on Olive Kildare Rd. in North Effingham County shortly after 5 p.m. Patrol deputies discovered a methamphetamine lab and additional meth inside of the vehicle during the stop.
The driver, Travis Girardeau, 27, of Brooklet, and his passenger, Benjamin Roberts, 28, of Brooklet, have been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and several traffic related offenses.
Effingham County Sheriff's Office Drug Suppression Team will be handling the ongoing investigation. Additional charges and arrests are expected.
Girardeau and Roberts are being held at the Effingham County Jail.
