Luke Bryan to kick off Farm Tour Wednesday in Claxton

CLAXTON, GA (WTOC) -

The 2012 Luke Bryan Farm Tour will kick off Wednesday in Evans County.

Last year, 10,000 fans packed Longneedle Farm in Claxton to see the country music superstar and Georgia Southern grad perform as part of his first-ever Farm Tour. This year, the concert will be held at the same venue in Claxton where he will actually kick off this year's tour.

Bryan uses the October tour to help to raise scholarship money for local college students. He says it's his way of giving back to local farming communities and offering a fun escape with outdoor shows.

The 2012 Farm Tour kick off concert will take place in Claxton on Oct. 3 at the Longneedle Farm, 3032 L J Road. Tickets are $35 for general admission. Tailgating begins at 2 p.m., doors open at 5 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m. Chairs and blankets are allowed in designated areas. No coolers are allowed.
