The Effingham Co. Sheriff's Office is partnering with the Rincon Waffle House to help raise money and feed people. The money will be used for Red Ribbon Week, which is a week dedicated to help prevent problems with drugs, alcohol, tobacco and domestic violence. The fundraiser will last for 24 hours, beginning at 7 a.m. Friday. Effingham County Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie says he couldn't be more pleased with the support.
"The Waffle House is one of the newest businesses in the county. They have not been here that long. For them to volunteer to do this for us, it really means a lot to us," said McDuffie.
"It is a great opportunity for somebody to have a great meal, eat well and also to give it back. So, we are going to be super staffed and we are going to have a lot of extra food and people on hand for everybody to come in," said Jordon Truesdale, Waffle House.
30 percent of the sales will goes towards Red Ribbon Week.
