ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Atlanta police are investigating the claims of a 19-year-old girl who said a man she met over the internet tried to force her into prostitution.
The teen said she man arranged to pick her up at her home in Columbus, Georgia and take her to a house on Willard Avenue in southwest Atlanta earlier this week, according to Atlanta Police Capt. Adam Lee III.
The girl sent a text to her mother late Wednesday saying she was being held against her will. Police are still checking the facts on her story.
The man, who is a registered sex offender, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft by taking. Other charges are pending the investigation, Lee said.
The teen was found unharmed at the home.
