SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they arrested a man who attacked his girlfriend with swords resembling weapons from the movie Conan the Barbarian.

Spartanburg County deputies said the man's girlfriend called 911 after he became upset with her and hit her several times with one of his swords.

The attack happened at 37-year-old Scott Setzer's mobile home on Riveroak Road in Inman about 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to a sheriff's office report.

The woman told deputies that when she got home from getting groceries, their cat accidentally got into the house, upsetting Setzer.

Setzer took one of his swords off the wall, unsheathed it, then began pointing it to her chest and neck, striking her on her hips several times, the report said.

Deputies said Setzer got down another sword that he allegedly said was better to kill her with, then swung it around, damaging the kitchen counter.

The woman was able to escape to a neighbor's home to call 911, deputies said. She told deputies that she would move out, and Setzer began throwing her stuff out on the yard.

While being transported to jail, deputies said Setzer began cursing at them and fluctuated from angry to crying. He was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
