Saturday, Georgia Southern goes on the road for just the second time this season, travelling to Cullowhee, North Carolina to face Western Carolina.
By the way, the Eagles lost their only other road game when they were beaten by The Citadel in Charleston. The players and coaches think the defense is playing better, "Defensively, I was really happy with the way our kids played from about midway through the second quarter on," said Eagles' head coach Jeff Monken. "I thought they were playing a lot more aggressive on the back end when the ball was in the air, knocking some balls down, defending the pass. I thought the guys up front did a good job, put some pressure on. We got close on some blitzes, got some sacks and I thought those guys did a nice job."
Linebacker Darius Eubanks added, "I say, week in and week out, the defense and offense are both getting better. We can always improve. Samford had a great offense but we have some great coaches here that put us in great position to make plays so we came out of top after a hard week of practice."
Kickoff will be at 3:30 Saturday.
