CLAXTON, GA (WTOC) -

Officials in Claxton believe a rolling meth lab was possibly thrown out of a car, igniting a pylon under the bridge over Thick Creek on Daisy Nevils Hwy.

Crews had to shut down the road because of the fire.

Claxton firefighters reported to the scene around 10 a.m. Sunday morning and put out the blaze. Once the fire was out, officials on the scene discovered chemicals associated with mobile meth labs and called in a Hazmat crew to further investigate.

The Department of Transportation was called out to assess the damage to the bridge.

The bridge has been reopened to traffic.
