RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC) -

South Carolina is again ranked second-worst in the nation for women murdered by men, according to a recent study. All of the victims knew their attackers, and 70 percent of them were partners or ex-partners with the perpetrators.

There's going to be a domestic violence candlelight vigil and rally held during halftime of the Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School football game at 7:30 p.m. in Ridgeland.

Organizers are asking attendees to wear purple to commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
