TATTNALL CO., GA (WTOC) -

A Tattnall County community is looking past the November elections to see what's in store for the region and the state next year.

Several people started the day early at an Eggs and Issues Breakfast in Glennville.

They heard from local lawmakers on the challenges the state of Georgia faces when they reconvene in January. The list includes water rights, transportation and more, but it all hinges on the budget and an economy that's been slow to recover.

"We're going to have to make some more tough choices. Unlike the federal government, we have to balance every year. So we have to look at that budget, make some cuts and project a budget for the following year," said Republican Sen. Tommy Williams.

The meeting was sponsored by the local chamber of commerce and Georgia Power.
