Brunswick man charged with business burglaries

BRUNSWICK, GA (WTOC) -

A man has been charged in connection with the burglary of three businesses.

Johnny Lee Thomas, 38, of Brunswick, was charged Thursday night with three counts of second-degree burglary.

Glynn County police said Thomas was charged with burglaries that occurred on July 6, Oct. 7 and Oct. 11.

Police said that at about 1:42 a.m. July 6 the OM Food Mart at 1306 Old Jesup Rd. was burglarized. About $100 worth of cigarettes and $20 of pornographic magazines were stolen. The shop's front doors had been shattered in the crime.  

At about 5:46 a.m. Oct. 7, a burglary was reported at the Friendly Express at 4902 Darien Hwy. An estimated $926 worth of cigarettes had been stolen. The stores's front doors had been shattered.

At about 3:24 a.m. Oct. 11, Chooses 7 at 7552 Blythe Island Hwy. was burglarized and cigarettes were stolen.  The store's front window was shattered.

Police said Thomas had been charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary on July 14 in connection with an attempted burglary on that same date at 3:26 a.m. at the Friendly Express located at 6215 Blythe Island Highway.
