Pressure continues to mount over the future of Auburn's head football coach Gene Chizik.

The team dropped to 1-6 for the season following a loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores. Monday, the public also learned that Chizik's mother had passed away. Auburn fans admit it's been rough.

"It's been a train wreck," Auburn fan Thomas Osborne said.

Monday at Baumhower's Wings at Patton Creek, Auburn fans were scratching their heads over the team's failure on the football field two years removed from the national championship.

"I'd say he has until the end of the year," Osborne said.

Radio talk show host Paul Finebaum feels for Chizik after news of his mother dying.

"It's extremely difficult to talk about a person's future a few hours after losing someone's mother," Finebaum said.

But Finebaum says it's obvious that Chizik will be lose his job at some point.

"The answer: he will be fired. I don't think there is any way he can save his job now. He has arguably has had the worst three games in Auburn history," Finebaum said.

In Tuscaloosa, Alabama fans are jumping into the debate over Chizik's future. At the Alabama book store, one t-shirt has become a hot item. It says "Alabama fans agree Keep Gene Chizik."

"We think it's a good thing he stays down there. We will like to have him around for a little bit longer, if they go one and 11 this year or two and 10," David Jones, Jr. said

But some Alabama fans can feel the Tigers' pain.

"Alabama has had a lot of pain ourselves. I can relate what Auburn is going through right now," Paul Pankey said.
