SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - One of Hollywood's biggest stars was honored in Savannah Sunday night.
Savannah College of Art and Design presented John Goodman with this year's Outstanding Achievement in Cinema award.
It's part of the SCAD 2012 Film Festival. Both award winning professionals and emerging student film makers came together for the annual event.
The festival was created to celebrate cinematic creativity. Each year more than 40,000 people attend this eight day event.
"I worked as a volunteer the last three years when I went to school, but since I graduated, I'm coming back as a guest and it's always one of the highlights of my year," said attendee Sam Collura.
"I get to see films I wouldn't otherwise get to see, I get to meet people I wouldn't otherwise get to meet and even get my name out there as a hopeful industry professional."
