We've been witnessing the greatest break-up of our nation since the Civil War.  Not by states, but by federal actions and intent.  The purposeful social, economic, and moral fracturing of America.  Replacing the worship of God with worship of government.  Pitting classes and groups against one another.  Destructive financial policies, defaulting on our future to satisfy the whims of today. While a self-obsessed, mega-government declares regulatory war on the private sector, and with it, the livelihoods of its workers.  Signaling clearly, that sustaining the achievements and liberty of America's individuals, that traditional primacy of self-reliance, is not D.C.'s goal.   Instead, it's reversing President Kennedy's eloquent plea to read:  "Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your country can do for you?"

Wrote the brilliant, Dr. Thomas Sowell: "Envy and resentment have, now, been cultivated to the point, where even those who contribute nothing to society, feel that they have a right to a "fair-share" of what others have produced."  We're wooed from self-reliance to Mother Government's sticky-web of collective fantasy.  And with it, from one Independence Day a year, to 365 dependent ones.  Said Winston Churchill:  "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.  Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."  Pray this is not the future we seek.
