The Beaufort County School District will be hosting two free workshops for parents to learn about financial help for their children's college education.
The first workshop will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Bluffton High School Auditorium for parents in the southern part of the district. The second identical workshop will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at Beaufort High School's small auditorium for parents in the northern part of the county. The primary target audience is parents of high school seniors but parents of younger students are also invited.
Workshop presenters include representatives from the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, the South Carolina Tuition Grants Commission, the University of South Carolina at Beaufort, the Technical College of the Lowcountry and South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities.
The presenters will be covering the basics of applying for financial aid and scholarships. Information about FAFSA, the CSS Profile, grants, loans and scholarship opportunities in South Carolina and nationally will also be provided.
