
Savannah State University will host 3 miles of the 2012 Savannah Rock ‘n' Roll Marathon course from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The community is invited to the SSU campus to fill T.A. Wright Stadium and cheer on race participants.
Runners go on SSU's campus through the LaRoche Avenue entrance; travel around Felix Alexis Circle. Savannah band A Nickel Bag of Funk will be performing live.
Then runners will head to the stadium, where they will run around the track and exit back through the LaRoche Avenue gate.
SSU's faculty, staff and students will line the streets to cheer on runners.
The Whatley and Jasmine avenue entrances will close to traffic at 8 a.m. and reopen at 1 p.m. The LaRoche and Falligant avenue entrances will close at 7 a.m. and re-open after the marathon ends.
