Annual Angel Tree book collection event kicks off in Lowcountry

Posted: Updated:
BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

The 3rd annual Angel Tree book collection kicks off Monday in the Lowcountry.

The Hampton Hall Book Club and the Bluffton Library are working together to collect new books for children. Last year 300 books were collected at the event, and this year they hope that the project will provide 400 books for the children of the Boys and Girls Club of the Lowcountry and the Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA).

How the program works: Library visitors choose an angel from the tree. Each angel lists a requested or suggested book from a child. Select an angel from the tree and bring it to library staff so they can register your choice. You're ready to shop!

Local children's book stores, Booksalicious and the Story Book Shoppe, are generously offering a 10 percent discount on books purchased for the Angel Tree. Donations of new, unwrapped books will be accepted at the following:

  • Booksalicious, 14 Promenade Street, Suite 304, Bluffton
  • The Story Book Shoppe, 41A Calhoun Street, Bluffton
  • Bluffton Branch Library, 120 Palmetto Way

The 3rd annual Angel Tree runs Nov. 5 through Dec. 8 at the Bluffton Library, 120 Palmetto Way.
