Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that took place Saturday night at a restaurant in Beaufort.
Sheriff's deputies responded to the China Wok at approximately 10 p.m. in reference to a robbery occurring at the business. Deputies met with two employees when they arrived. Both of the employees reported that they had been assaulted.
The two male victims, ages 34 and 53, told police that two unknown black males wearing dark clothing and masks entered the store. One suspect was armed with a shotgun. The suspects then jumped over the counter and approached the victims. Both of the victims were struck in the head with the butt of the shotgun. The suspects then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim's pockets.
The suspects fled the store and were last seen getting into a black truck that had been waiting next to the building. EMS personnel responded and both victims were treated for minor head injuries.
