More than 700 churches nationwide will celebrate Election Day Tuesday. This grassroots, multidenominational campaign invites churches to express their unity by holding a communion service.
First Christian Church, a Disciples of Christ Congregation in Savannah will participate in the Election Day communion service Tuesday.
"We're celebrating Election Day Communion to offer healing and reconciliation to the people of Savannah, and to remind ourselves that there is something greater than any political party," says Heath Coker in a news release, Sr. Pastor at First Christian Church. "As Christians, we aren't called to change the country by waging a political war. We're invited to open our eyes and see a world already changed by Christ."
