CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A hard fought Chatham County race is drawing to a close.

Meg Daly Heap as she cast her ballot Tuesday at Wilmington Island United Methodist Church. She is running for district attorney - challenging her former employer and incumbent Larry Chisolm, who has served as district attorney for the past four years.

"We've been really pleased that some of the precincts that have been favorable to me are turning out, so we're encouraged by that," Chisolm said.

When asked about the race on Election Day, Heap had one word.

"Tired – it has been a long race. I think it's well worth it. I've had a lot of support. a lot of people have come on board with this campaign and i think it's for the same reason I'm running. It's that we want justice for people who have been victimized by crime," she told WTOC.
